The “Grizzly” 163rd Operations Group Flying Training Unit is located at the historic March Joint Air Reserve Base near Riverside, California. The field commissioned in 1918, was an early home for Army Air Corps training from the likes of Henry H. (Hap) Arnold. The Grizzlies began operations in 1946 and flew an assortment of aircraft including the F-80, F-84, P-51, O-2, F-102, F-4, KC-135 and now the MQ-1 Predator. It presently flies two combat orbits in addition to hosting its flying training unit. Instructors from CTI assist in training both pilots and sensor operators in MQ-1 remote split operations and launch and recovery operations.
