CTI's site at Beale Air Force Base, California supports the U-2S high altitude reconnaissance mission of the 9 th Reconnaissance Wing (9RW), Air Combat Command. The CTI team is composed of a small number of academic instructors (former U-2 pilots and mission planner) and a courseware development staff. The courseware staff produces Computer Based Training, classroom teaching programs, and simulator mission scenarios which the instructors use to teach U-2 pilots and mission planners from entry-level up through mission qualification. The team also supports the 9RW's T-38 Companion Trainer Program and its Instrument Refresher Course. The newest player in the CTI lineup is the Briefing Room Interactive (BRI) program. With a high level of expertise in hardware and software components, the CTI team has integrated this dynamic new medium into the demanding environment of U-2S operations. The 9RW commanders cite the outstanding CTI product and the team's can-do attitude as a critical asset to the wing's mission accomplishment. USAF inspectors consistently rate CTI's courseware and instruction as outstanding and “state of the art”.
