Memphis, TN – February 28, 2025 – Crew Training International (CTI), a recognized leader in military and commercial aviation training, has been awarded the U.S. Army FAA Part 141 Helicopter Flight School Pilot Program in partnership with Helicopter Institute. This collaboration marks a groundbreaking transformation in Army aviation training, setting a new standard for rotary-wing pilot development.
The United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence (USAACE) spearheads this initiative, which introduces a Civilian FAA Part 141 curriculum into military aviation training. Based in Fort Novosel, AL the program will utilize the TH-66 Sage helicopter, a military training variant of the Robinson R-66 Turbine. This approach will provide Army students with Private Pilot, Rotorcraft Helicopter, and Instrument Helicopter certifications before transitioning into formal military flight training. By incorporating civilian flight training methodologies, this program aims to streamline training efficiency, improve foundational pilot skills, and optimize resources.
